Marissa on 2026-01-13 (5 stars): I just found your recipe and can’t wait to try it. I have made Fire Cider in the past. I first discovered the stuff at a small organic store in Mt Shasta Ca. and I instantly wanted to make my own.
My recipe was similar to yours though one different ingredient I added was Burdock root. It is full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, helps digestion as a prebiotic fiber, and shows promise in supporting liver health, blood sugar, and circulation.
ONE IMPORTANT TIP!
If I had one important tip to offer with making Fire Cider, having learned the hard way, I suggest wearing gloves when straining. I made this mistake and discovered how much fire cider lives up to its name. Having squeezed the veggies and herbs I soaked by hand left me with red, burning arms for the next few weeks. It was a lesson I’ll never forget.
Monique on 2026-01-04 (5 stars): Finally made this for the first time and even added fresh thyme and sage from the garden. Wondering if it’s ok that some of these ingredients are floating at the top and not fully covered by the ACV? Any suggestions if it’s not ok? Thanks so much!
