Roasted perfectly and flavored with a mix of complementary spices, these pecans are a great snack, salad topping, or even a great gift during the holiday season.
Recipe by The Real Food Dietitians on December 10, 2024
Place the pecan halves in a large bowl and mix them with the maple syrup.
Add the spices to the bowl and toss the pecan halves to coat them in the spice mixture.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Spread the pecans evenly in a single layer over the parchment paper.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring the nuts every 5 minutes, until toasted and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
Set aside to cool on the baking sheet until the pecans are cool enough to handle. Break the pecans apart, as some may stick together.
After completely cooled, store the spiced pecans in an airtight container.

Susan Hale on 2025-12-12 (5 stars): great recipe I added like an eighth of a teaspoon of cayenne pepper because my family likes heat. I also added probably a tablespoon of butter just because again my family likes the richness of it. I love using natural sugars and the butter was home churned
Kathleen on 2025-12-18 (5 stars): Love this recipe! I triple the batch and add to Christmas gifts. They’re a hit!
Susan Visser on 2025-12-24 (4 stars): I made these for my family who can eat nuts (sadly, I cannot). My taste tester told me when they were done, and he said they were great.
There was quite a bit of maple syrup left on the pan, so I think it could be reduced to 1/4 cup. I also wasn’t sure where to include the salt.
