THE BEST Salted Olive Oil Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe!
Your favorite chocolate chip cookie, but made with some olive oil for the most insane cookie texture ever! These salted dark chocolate olive oil cookies are chewy, slightly crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. One of my favorite olive oil cookies--you will love these!

Steps
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Make sure you have a rack in the top third of your oven (allow at least 6 inches (15 cm) from the heat source). Line several baking sheets with parchment paper.
In an electric stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream your brown sugar, butter, oil and granulated sugar on medium speed for about 5 minutes or until fully incorporated, light and creamy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, making sure each is well blended before adding the next. Add the vanilla and mix on medium until everything is well blended. Take the bowl out of the mixer.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, bread flour, baking powder, baking soda and sea salt. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and fold until the cookie dough is barely blended and you still see streaks of flour. Add the chocolate chunks and fold until just mixed.
Gently roll 2 tablespoon-sized cookie dough balls, place on the prepared baking sheet and allow about 2 inches (5 cm) of space between the dough balls. Bake the cookies in the top third of the oven for about 11 minutes. They will look slightly underdone. Fresh out of the oven, sprinkle with sea salt flakes, if using. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.

Kieren Cromwell on 2026-03-24 (5 stars): Made this bunches of times, always a hit, if you’re looking to impress though, make sure to get good quality olive oil, preferably from a store that only sells olive oil
Rosie Hoffman on 2026-01-04 (5 stars): I think this was the recipe i used to use and they were a huge hit- however i think i remember them going into the freezer for a short bit before baking. is that a different recipe? i can’t seem to find it if it is. thanks!
Cheryl on 2025-07-31 (5 stars): The best chocolate chip cookie on the internet. And I’ve been very scientific in my research.
Gregory Davis on 2024-12-08 (5 stars): This recipe was easy. The cookies were soft and chewy. I may have added more dark chocolate. And I used 60 % Cocoa chips
Halle V on 2024-10-02 (5 stars): Hi! I really love the idea of this recipe, but I can't seem to get the temperature / timing right. Per the recipe, my cookies end up burned, even when I reduce the baking time. Then I tried at 350 for 9mins and they looked beautiful like the picture, but a little underdone inside. Any idea why this is happening?
Jo on 2024-07-20 (5 stars): Very good and also very pretty.
Erinn on 2024-03-09 (5 stars): SO GOOD and so easy to nail this recipe. They’re delicious every time. I’ve been making several batches a month since I found the recipe. I have a bag of them in my freezer at all times
Alison on 2024-02-13 (5 stars): This recipe is amazing, and is my go-to choc chip cookie recipe! But when adjusting the amounts for printing, the weight measurements (grams) do not change with the cup measurements. Maybe a glitch? Thanks heaps.
Lauren on 2023-06-14 (5 stars): absolutely insane- can't believe there is not more ratings. I make them all the time and people are constantly asking for the recipe!
Christie Boen on 2023-04-23 (5 stars): These are my go to chocolate chip cookie. They truly are the best! I’ve been asked for the recipe multiple times. Sometimes I add in caramel chips with the chocolate chunks. So yummy! Thanks for updating the recipe! Love it!
