I love chickpea curries and this was a really good one, very simple to prepare but vibrantly flavoured. It used tamarind chutney which is handy because I have a huge jar and I appreciated the soft melting texture of the well-cooked chickpeas. I wasn’t in the mood to make a deep-fried bread so I just cooked my chapattis in a bit of oil (I’d normally keep the pan dry) to give them a hint of that crisp fried flavour and that was a great easy option.
