It’s the cheapest, most enjoyable and frankly wholesome way to live in London and I could talk for days about it. Got questions? Fire away in the comments. This recipe is very much based on @alisoneroman ’s killer recipe, the caramelised shallot pasta. It’s famous for a reason, this recipe is stunning. Today I did my own take on it, adding capers, tuna and harissa to the mix and it was truly delicious. If you don’t know Alison’s recipes, firstly have you been living under a rock?! And secondly, I highly recommend you check her out, sign up to her newsletter and order her books asap. INGREDIENTS: - a bag of shallots (at least six big ones) - 5 garlic cloves (4 thinly sliced and 1 crushed) - 2 tsp of harissa - a tin of anchovies - a tube of tomato paste - 2 tins of tuna - half a jar of capers - salt and pepper to taste - 700g of pasta (I used spaghetti but bucatini would be best here) - A bag of parsley METHOD: - peel and thinly slice the shallots before sweating them on a medium high heat in a good glug of olive oil - Keep stirring the shallots until they are nicely caramelised, at least 10-15 mins - Add the thinly sliced garlic, whole tin of anchovies and continue to cook for 5 mins - add the tube of tomato past, capers, tuna and harissa - Put your pasta on to boil and cook till al dente - add a ladle of pasta water to the sauce and stir through - finely chop the parsley and stir together with the crushed garlic - drain the pasta and add to the sauce, loosening with more pasta water if needed - Serve and top with the parsley mix #communalliving #warehouselife #eastlondonlife #alisonroman #alisonromanrecipe #easypasta #dinnerwithme #dinnerideas #easydinner".
